We went to the Taberna de Soano a little too early as we hadn't booked a table so we were, by Spanish standards, eating far too early (the first diners of the evening) so the dining room was very quiet. The food was very good especially the steak in pepper sauce. The lamb chops were very tasty too. A French group of six arrived & as we were eating our puddings Spanish diners started to arrive in the bar for pre-dinner drinks. All in all an excellent place to go but based on our experience don't turn up before 9.30pm for an evening meal...

After 4 weeks in various parts of Spain before getting on ferry home we had our last meal here and it was the best. The tapas starters and then the paella was perfect, served at appropriate time, with service that was impeccable. Thank you so much. Bob and Maureen

We liked both thé food and service here. The home-made sangria was perfect too. It would be nice though if they add some green salad to the dishes but as I can see in Cantabria it’s common for restaurants.

We visited this restaurant for a second time in three days, that should say it all. At the first visit, we had an abundant dish of delicious mixed grilled fish. The second time we chose for the Solomillo with foie gras. The steak was very tender, our friends were also very pleased with the fish soup. They also offer very nice wines by Luis Cañas at a very competitive price. Absolute friendly staff to make the picture complete. Thumbs up!

The place is in a small town really cozy. The service is fantastic. The food was delicious. We had a salad and a fish BBQ with four different types of fish. We also had two desserts that were really taste. The whole experience was outstanding for what we were expecting.
